I’m about to go on a trip. It’s the fruit of a spur of a moment thinking but that spur of a moment decision should really be a result of uncovering my deep unconsciousness. Yes, it must be.
There are a few things that deserve a mention. One, I will be on an island that is said to be best traveled by car without a car. Yes, I’m more of a “I don’t drive but I go pretty far” type of girl. Two, I just found my first host through couchsurfing meaning I will be meeting and staying with a stranger and a local (for part of my time there). A completely new experience, how exciting! Three, my forthcoming journey includes three parts going from solo to double to quintuple, south to north then south again, and I will likely be in NYC three times within a month time.
Of course, there will be much much more…I’m looking forward to meeting new people and traveling with my new best friend. There will be challenges too and the discomfort of living literally out of a 40L backpack and limited budget, but the best way to go is to keep an absolutely open mind. My past experience traveling solo has always been pleasant because there is no judgment throughout the whole time. Also because of the short duration of staying at one place with another traveler everyone becomes more tolerant. Sounds like a perfect formula for world peace?!
Anyhow, pack light and get ready to travel.
